NGC 6907

NGC 6907 is a beautiful spiral galaxy, and one of the more interesting features within the constellation Capricornus. When it was first discovered, the brighter spot in the Eastern arm was believed to be an area with increased star production, but subsequent infrared analysis has shown this is actually another independent galaxy, NGC 6908, which passed through the disk of NGC 6907 some 35 million years ago, forming a stellar and gas bridge.
